About

Project Legos staff and volunteers at First Annual Youth-Led Footstepsmarch, North Commons Park, North Mpls, MN.

A Brief History…

Project Legos was founded by Kyle Rucker in September of 2005. The organization was recognized by the state of Minnesota as a corporation in March of 2006 and recognized as a 501 C 3 Corporation March of 2008. The founding principals and theories continue to propel the mission of Project Legos; inspiring young people to BE THE CHANGE that they want to see in their communities i.e. schools, groups, teams and leisure time.
Kyle’s idea to engage young people in conversations, simulations and dialogues surrounding social values and leadership is still the backbone of Project Legos. Since the founding of Project Legos, we’ve had nearly 2,000 participants of all ages, abilities and backgrounds experience our programming.
Project Legos programs have taken many shapes and sizes. Since the beginning we’ve partnered with 41 youth-serving organizations and counting including schools, community centers, leadership camps, recreation centers, youth groups, retreat groups and leadership institutions. Our curriculums are designed to inspire every young person to be social leaders, volunteers and to dare to be the change.
We have trained and deployed nearly 40 college students (facilitators) to conduct programming all over the United States. Each of our faciliatators have deep faith in the power of young people to make a positive change in their own lives and seek make a postive impact in the lives of others.
